Jayne can't do something, and guess what? She does it anyway. For the love of cheese, you would think that she would have some character development. Even in her own reasoning, she says she tries to be more mature, but really doesn't act on it at all. This is book 6 and it's losing me. I can't stop because, I love the fae and I am curious what the hell is going on, but quickly losing my happy feelings for Jayne. I lost them for the pixies around book 3. Which, unfortunately, we get a heavy dose of Willy in this book. I wanted to claw my eyes out. Jayne is showing that she has new abilities, however she doesn't know how to use them, which causes a huge rift between her and Ben, not that there was a lot going on between them because she never tried. While I knew that Ben was her nemesis and it was not going to work out for them, I didn't believe that Jayne knew that. Anyway, we learn that she was correct about Ben, duh - no one believes her, of course. She acts extremely childish and immature, I think she might be regressing; it isn't cute. The only mature thing she does is let Chase go and accepts Spike. I was a little surprised at that, as I don't really see Spike as the way the dude was described. Perhaps I was as blind as Jayne. Samantha threw me for a loop and I am really curious about her and what she does and how she is related; you don't find out. Editing is rather poor with a flagrant misuse of the semicolon. You guessed it, ends in a cliff-hanger.Product details

Clash of the Otherworlds Book 2 Between the Realms Volume 2 Elle Casey 9781939455017 Books Reviews
Once again Elle Casey raises the bar. Just when you think it can't get any better you read the next book and are blown away. I haven't been a Young Adult in quite a while except at heart which just goes to show that anyone of any age can enjoy these books. Just when I think I have everything and everyone figured out Mrs. Casey takes the story on an unexpected turn. I really did not see certain events coming. There's a character (or two) that I really want to like but it's getting very hard after all the bad things they've done. I hope they can change but it's hard to tell at the moment. I think Jayne has finally settled on who is going to be her romantic interest and I was happy to see who it was (pretty much the guy I was hoping she'd fall for since the first book) although you never know with these books so I'll just keep my fingers crossed. Tim and his son are insane. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. What's with the "Spider Nakies" and "polly balls"? I don't even know how she comes up with this stuff but I'm certainly glad she does.
Elle Casey has a wonderful imagination, her characters are real, flawed, funny and everything you'd expect out of a motley group of friends. Her sense of humor leaves me laughing for most of the book (my relatives think I'm insane by now I'm sure) and her pacing is perfect. She's truly a talented author and I'm so glad that , Goodreads, etc have made it possible for independent authors everywhere to share their stories with us. This book deserves to be on the shelf at every single bookstore, Walmart, Target, anywhere books are sold, it's simply that good. I have to go start the 3rd book now. It's been hard writing this review and waiting even this long to see what happens next. These books just pull you into them and once there you never want to leave.
Oh my....what to say about the emotional roller coaster that Elle subjects me to...First all I have to say that I really really hate love triangles, but since so many books use that in their plot, I can't avoid them all. I count myself as a pretty good judge of character therefore when I choose the one I want them to end up with I usually stay pretty loyal and am mad if it does not end up that way. Now with all that being said.....Elle you are killing me with all the twists and turns and make me feel disloyal because I have changed my preferences several times through out this series!! I am loyal like Jayne so to convince me to jump tracks is really pretty rare and to have me jump more than once to different people is incredible,
This book is laugh out loud funny...but I come to expect that from Elle (her humor and voice speaks to me like a best friend)..but right now I am clueless and out of the loop as Jayne! Elle leads us (Jayne and any reader) around by our emotions and our bag of good intentions. You know that Jayne is about to something that looks like a good idea and altruistic on the surface and honestly if you were the one standing there and having to make a decision on the spot with the information you have at the moment, you would probably make the same one. But the information or the hints you get RIGHT after makes you think that it will come back to bite you and the whole of fae and mankind is there every time.
I don't want to give away any spoilers therefore I am not going to talk about what happens in this book. I have recommended all of Elle's books and if you read one and like her voice then I would tell you read them all! Her main characters are kick ass, sassy young women that are always trying to take care of their friends, family while trying to make the right choices (not always successful) then deal with the consequences of their actions (always actions because these gals are not the sit on the sidelines to wait and see people).
I love the characters (pretty much everyone of them)in this series and it will be a sad day when we don't get to get an update in their lives.
Thanks again Elle for the wild ride and the rush of adrenaline you provide on a regular basis.
I started with book one of this series, and read the entire series shorty there after. I loved the characters, and the creative story line - so much so that I would be up until 2am reading, always telling myself "just one more chapter, just one more page." I never know how to leave book reviews without giving too much of the plot away... but if you like other authors such as Christie Rich,Yasmine Galenorn, Jennifer L. Armentrout, P.C. Cast, you will love this series! I was hooked from the first chapter. Thank you Elle Casey for writing such a fantastic series that us readers can find so much magic and adventure in!
